The First Trailer For 'The Incredibles 2' Is Finally Here
Thirteen years ago, Disney and Pixar shook the superheroes movie genre with The Incredibles, a film centered around a family of formerly-famous crimefighters learning to live a normal life, as they hide their fantastical abilities from the general public. The movie became an astounding financial success, and its personality, originality and slew of relatable characters charmed audiences all around the world.
The world couldn't get enough of this new superhero family, but to our surprise, the powers that be seemed motivated to keep a sequel in development for as long as possible. In fact, the highly-awaited second chapter went quiet for 10 years, until 2014, when #BobIger officially announced The Incredibles 2 was coming in 2018.
Fans of the franchise have had a hard time waiting for the film, but thankfully, Disney has been throwing us a few bits and pieces to quench our thirst for more content. Back in July, we got the movie's first poster, featuring several cool story details to pick out. Now, we've been treated to yet another surprise.
'The Incredibles' 2 Trailer Is Finally Here, And It's Amazing
With less than eight months until the Parr family do a superhero landing back into theaters, the House of the Mouse and #Pixardecided to get the hype train going even stronger with the film's first official trailer. Check it out:
Oh. My. God. I can't believe this is happening. Pardon my excitement, but I've been a huge fan of the first film for years. I've followed every bit of news and developments about this project, biting my nails while seeing it come together, so it's incredible to see it coming together. Overwhelming excitement aside, the trailer wasn't too specific about the plot, but fret not, because the story isn't a complete mystery.
During this year's D23 panel, returning director #BradBirdexplained the film would pick up immediately after its predecessor. This time around, Bob will be staying at home to look after the kids, while Elastigirl goes on her own adventure. In that same panel, Helen Parr herself, #HollyHunter, jokingly explained:
"Bob's actually home with the kids this time and I'm the one out fighting crime. I've been working out 13 hours a day!"
That's certainly something I'd love to see. I can already imagine how hilarious seeing Bob Parr trying to contain Jack-Jack will be. Hopefully he'll have a bit more luck than his babysitter.
The Incredibles 2 will hit theaters on June 15, 2018.
